WHO WE ARE
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida International University
provides opportunities for students 50 and older to expand their
knowledge and enhance their quality of life through intellectually
stimulating non-credit personal enrichment programming in an
environment conducive to social and cultural interaction. FIU is one
of 119 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes on university and college
campuses across the country. Courses are taught by well-qualified
instructors, including university faculty and subject matter experts.
BECOME A FRIEND OF OLLI
The Osher Institute is only partially supported by member and tuition
fees. The last two years of grant support from the Bernard Osher
Foundation have provided crucial operating and programming funds.
Our goal is to ensure that the Institute is fully self-sustainable over
time, providing learning opportunities for current and new members
long into the future. Individuals, organizations and businesses are
invited to underwrite or otherwise sponsor our work. Contributions
will help offset faculty salaries, facility rental and catalog production
and are tax deductible. Contributions are welcome at any time. Please
contact Dr. Susan Jay, Director at jays@fiu.edu or 305-919-5910 to
discuss donation opportunities.

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
HELP US REACH 1,000 MEMBERS! We are entering a critical phase of development
for the Osher Institute. We are eligible for a major operational financial endowment
from the Osher Foundation if we can increase our membership to 1,000. We
are currently at 875 members. This endowment will support us in reaching self
sustainability over the next few years. Won’t you please help us reach our goal?
BRING A NEW MEMBER who has never taken classes at OLLI and you will receive
$5.00 off each course fee (in addition to the $5.00 early registration discount)!
We have slightly increased course fees to help cover more of our expenses and to
move us along the road to self sustainability. We appreciate your understanding and
your patronage.
Finally, we are looking for volunteers NOW! Earn your way to free classes through meaningful volunteer
opportunities. For more information see our website at www.caps.fiu.edu/olli or call Clara at 305-919-5910.
